Veterans Benefits for Home Care

For decades, you've answered the call to defend our nation. Now, it's our turn to answer your calls. You deserve the best possible care, and the financial burden shouldn't stand in the way.

Many veterans in our area bravely served our country. Now, as they get older, they might need some help at home.  The good news is there are programs to help pay for this care.  The VA, or Veterans Administration, can help with money for caregivers to come to your home.

If your loved one served in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Space Force, or Coast Guard, they might qualify. They must have served on active duty and not been dishonorably discharged.  Reservists and National Guard members who were called up for active duty may also qualify.

Q: What kind of help is there?

A: There are two main programs:

• One program helps veterans who get a pension from the VA. If they need help with daily tasks like bathing or dressing, they may qualify.
• Another program helps veterans who don't get a pension. A VA person will assess their needs and help find caregivers.

Q: How can I get started?

A: There are two ways to apply:

• Fill out a form online or get it from your local VA office. Mail it in when you're done.
• Visit your local Veterans Center. Talk to someone who can help with the application.
  

The sooner you apply, the better. It can take time to get approved, so starting early is important.
