Back to School: Angel Caregiver Academy CHHA Training

Becoming a Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) can help caregivers in New Jersey find new opportunities to serve local seniors and their families. If you want to obtain the licensing necessary to become a CHHA in New Jersey, the Angel Caregiver Academy offers a four-week program designed to catapult you forward in your career. A partnership with Visiting Angels of Toms River also guarantees graduates a job opportunity to implement those newfound skills.

What is the Angel Caregiver Academy?

Founded in 2021, the Angel Caregiver Academy is owned and operated by the Visiting Angels franchises of Matawan, New Jersey, and Brick, New Jersey. The Angel Caregiver Academy is an approved New Jersey Board of Nursing Homemaker-Home Health Aide (CHHA) Training School. Small class sizes are taught by Registered Nurse Instructors who go beyond the knowledge they share to help students make a positive difference in the lives of local seniors.

CHHA Training and Licensing at Angel Caregiver Academy

Angel Caregiver Academy attendees can pursue their dream of becoming a CHHA within four weeks. Classes consist of 15 hours of online material per week, for a total of 60 hours spent on coursework. In addition, enrollees must also complete 16 hours of in-person instruction, which is divided equally into four-hour sessions per week. These in-person classes take place at the Angel Caregiver Academy.

Once attendees complete the CHHA Training course, they are eligible to take the New Jersey CHHA Licensing exam. Testing occurs at the Angel Caregiver Academy. While completing the program doesn’t guarantee you’ll pass the licensing exam, the topics covered are beyond sufficient to adequately prepare students for the exam.

After a $149 rebate, registering for the class costs $250. Students must submit a $100 deposit to secure a seat, but full payment is required prior to the start of class. Limited space is available and no refunds are allowed. The CHHA Training does not include any fees associated with taking the CHHA Licensing exam.

CNA to CHHA Bridge Program

The Angel Caregiver Academy also offers a CNA to CHHA Bridge Program. This accelerated conversion class is designed for licensed CNAs who want to earn their CHHA license. The coursework consists of 10 hours of online study and two hours of clinical training. No state test is required to obtain this license. The net course fee is $175.
