SCV Senior Center’s Celebrity Waiter Dinner
This past April, the SCV Senior Center hosted its exciting annual event, the Celebrity Waiter Dinner. This event brought the community together for an evening of fun and support for local seniors.
Geneva Gray and Renee McCloud, co-owners of Visiting Angels of Santa Clarita and San Luis Obispo, CA, shared their thoughts on the SCV Senior Center:
“Visiting Angels of Santa Clarita is proud to support the SCV Senior Center through sponsorship of their signature annual event, the Celebrity Waiter Dinner. We have witnessed firsthand the benefit their many programs have on the lives of seniors in the Santa Clarita Valley, particularly the Home Delivered and Congregate meal programs, their Handyworker program and the classes they offer at the senior center.”
At the dinner, local seniors had the opportunity to meet new friends, enjoy pre-dinner cocktails, and bid on exciting travel experiences during a live auction. The event was a resounding success, showcasing the vibrant and supportive community that surrounds the SCV Senior Center.
Helpful Programs at SCV Senior Center
SCV Senior Center offers a wide array of enjoyable and educational programs to local seniors. Just a handful of the programs and services they offer include:
- The Handyworker program aims to help qualifying city and county residents by providing minor home repairs, prioritizing health and safety.
- The Anderson Girls’ Adventures Travel Agency partnered with SCV Senior Center to bring their expertise with planning outings and travel. Senior residents have the chance to join them on both local and not-local trips and tours!
- Fitness programs, including Tai Chi, pickleball lessons, chair Pilates, and yoga, are available on a monthly calendar.
- Concert series, including live musical entertainment, occur all year long.
Additionally, seniors can enjoy delicious and nutritious meals delivered straight to their door or the opportunity to dine with their friends in an inviting communal setting. This not only supports seniors’ physical health but also promotes regular socialization with others in their community.
