When The Rye Record featured Kate Moynihan in their “Slice of Rye” segment in August 2014, her journey of senior home care had only begun. The title “Angel in Our Midst” may have wittingly referred to the Visiting Angels franchise Kate had recently joined, but it would also serve as a foretelling of what would become her legacy. Kate admits she hasn’t done any press since, but given the circumstances, that may have to change.
This year, Visiting Angels of White Plains celebrates its 10th year in business. With Kate at the helm, the budding franchise quickly grew from — believe it or not — 10 caregivers to over 230 current employees. A Trifecta of Humble Beginnings

New York law requires a license to provide hygiene assistance to seniors, a requirement that didn’t slow Kate down. Her business background helped her manage the logistics of opening her own Visiting Angels franchise, but her compassion and care saw her through. For Kate, it’s about building a relationship with White Plains seniors and their families to provide the care their aging loved ones deserve.
