Home Care for Veterans
Veterans Home Care - College Station, TX
Many seniors may need assistance with their daily activities as they age, especially after the loss of a loved one. This can include basic daily care tasks. Unfortunately, this kind of ongoing care, known as "custodial care," is not typically covered by health insurance, such as Medicare, even though it may be required due to significant medical conditions.
Visiting Angels of College Station, TX steps into this gap and works with the Veteran Affairs Aid and Attendance benefit to be a real lifeline for those in need of long-term care. While it can be difficult to come to terms with the need for assistance, it's important to remember that Visiting Angels and the Aid and Attendance benefit exist to help seniors maintain their independence and dignity as they age. We would love to see if you or a surviving spouse qualifies for these benefits.
Visiting Angels can help veterans and surviving spouses navigate the complex process of applying for VA benefits and other forms of financial assistance. They work closely with local VA offices and other organizations to ensure that their clients receive the maximum benefits they are entitled to. If you are a veteran or a surviving spouse in need of home care services, a free veterans’ home care consultation is the first step in connecting with the care you need. Contact Visiting Angels to learn more about how they can help you, free of charge.
How do Veteran Benefits Work?
U.S. military veterans may qualify for personal care benefits through the Aid and Attendance or the Community Care Network programs.
- Veterans who qualify for Community Care Network benefits may be eligible for assistance with home-health care costs. Qualified veterans will be assigned to a service care coordinator, who will determine how many hours per week the veteran requires care and will help the family connect with caregivers in their area. Community Care Network benefits are paid directly to partner organizations.
- Veterans who receive a VA pension may qualify for Aid and Attendance benefits if they need help with daily activities, are bed-bound, live in a nursing home, or have limited eyesight. Veterans may qualify for “Housebound” benefits if they need to spend most of their time at home due to a permanent disability. In most cases, benefits are paid directly to the veteran and added to their monthly pension.
Customer Review
We used Visiting Angels for several months for my mother in law and I cannot say enough wonderful things about them!! From start to finish, they were awesome! McKayla helped us set up our visits and she was so great. From our first meeting and assessment to the end, she was so professional and helpful. Beatrice was our most regular VA and she truly was just that, AN ANGEL! She truly made all the difference for my mother in law. We are so grateful for her. Additionally, all the ladies who substituted for Beatrice were lovely. We highly recommend them to anyone in need!! They also were so good about emails and scheduling and invoices. Soooo grateful for Visiting Angels!
