Home Care for Veterans
Home care benefits through the Veterans Administration (VA) can be a critical support to qualified U.S. veterans who need help with everyday living. Because custodial care is not often covered by insurance, the cost of in-home care can be impossible to manage without VA aid.
Military veterans can have their in-home care costs completely covered through several different VA programs, involving different levels of care, from those who need just a little help to navigate their days to those who need a much more specific and skilled type of care.
Visiting Angels and VA health care benefits can help eligible veterans with activities of daily living:
- Transport Assistance
- Help with Toileting
- Homemaking Tasks
- Meal Preparation
- Medication Assistance
- Light Housekeeping
- Personal Grooming and Hygiene
- Bathing Help
- Respite Care for Caregivers
- Companionship
- Help with Eating
- Getting Dressed
- Mobility Support Around the Home
We can also provide skilled care for specialized care needs:
- Palliative Care
- End of Life Care
- Memory Care
- Dementia
- Alzheimer's Disease
- Parkinson's Disease
- Hospice Care
- Respite Care
- Parkinson's Care
- Integrated Care Planning
Applying for VA benefits and other forms of financial assistance is a complex and extended process; the best time to apply for home care benefits through the VA is before they are needed. Do you qualify for FREE HOME CARE in Humble, TX?
U.S. military veterans may qualify for personal care benefits through the Aid and Attendance or the Community Care Network programs.
Here’s how each program works:
- Aid and Attendance benefits: This benefit is for individuals who have limited eyesight, are bed-bound, need help with daily activities, or live in a nursing home. Any veteran who receives a VA pension can qualify. Veterans may also be eligible for “Housebound” benefits if they need to spend most of their time at home due to a permanent disability. Benefits are typically paid as part of the veteran’s monthly pension.
- Community Care Network benefits: Veterans who qualify for Community Care Network benefits will be assigned a service care coordinator. The coordinator will determine how much care is needed, and will also help the family connect with local caregivers. Rather than being added to the pension, Community Care Network benefits get paid out directly to partner organizations to cover care costs.

Customer Review
This agency has been great! During the initial visit, Paul listened diligently to our needs and then clearly explained what assistance could/couldn’t be provided. For us, they provide non-medical assistance, meal prep and very lite house keeping. Caregivers are friendly, prompt, respectful and professional. We have been very pleased with all 4 different caregivers to-date. The flexibility to choose the number of hours and days with no set minimum requirement really helps with the budget. So glad we found Visitng Angels of Humble.
