What does it mean to ‘age in place’?

Usually, the phrase ‘aging in place’ refers to the ability of asenior to age in the place where they feel the most comfortable, normally at home. It’s thought of as being the opposite of an assisted living facility or a nursing home. Although, sometimes “aging in place” may be the ability for a senior to live in an assisted living facility. It depends on the client.

What kind of senior services do you provide?

At Visiting Angels, we offer a variety of different senior services, including personal care, Alzheimer’s care, and companion care. Our Angel companions help seniors across Huber Heights, Ohio, enjoy the comforts of home. For example, some of the tasks that we help with include keeping the house clean, medication reminders, meaningful companionship, and daily hygiene support.

Do you provide senior care inside assisted living facilities?

Absolutely. We’d be more than happy to provide a qualified, compassionate caregiver at an assisted living facility. Before reaching out, be sure to ask whether the assisted living facility would allow you to bring in extra help.

How long does it take to start home care?

Senior care services can often begin within 48 hours of your initial consult. Sometimes it can even be provided on the same day. Call Visiting Angels in Huber Heights at 937-855-7777. During our free in-home consultation, we provide you with information about our adult home care and answer any questions that you may have. We will then connect you with a caregiver that we believe fits your schedule, senior care needs, and personality to assist you. Then, you will be able to Select Your Caregiver. If something comes up, can I change the schedule?

Definitely. With a week’s notice, we can modify your care schedule to update the date and time of visits. Your needs always come first. We pride ourselves on being flexible with our clients and their changing needs.

What kind of training do caregivers receive?

All of our caregivers receive skills training and undergo background screenings and reference checks before they start making visits. For clients with more intensive needs such as memory care for individuals diagnosed with Dementia or Alzheimer’s, caregivers participate in an advanced training program developed in conjunction with the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.

How much does private home care cost?

Visiting Angels charges an hourly rate for private home care services. We do not list pricing on our website because it varies as widely as the needs of each individual client. The quickest way to get a price for private home care is to call our office and explain the type of care you need, and where you are located. Our pricing is affordable. We customize care plans to accommodate the client’s budget and care needs.

What areas do you provide home care services?

We provide home care services to families throughout Dayton, Englewood, Huber Heights, Vandalia, Brookville, Eaton, Germantown, Brookeville and many other surrounding areas. If you live just outside of our service area, fear not! Our caregivers often provide care to seniors who live just outside our boundaries. If you live further out, we would be happy to recommend a senior care provider in your area.
