Visiting Angels is a home care agency in Evansville, IN that is dedicated to helping veterans and their surviving spouses keep their independence and comfort at home. Who Qualifies for FREE Home Care?
To access veterans’ home care programs, veterans in Evansville, IN can reach out to us and let us work with you and your VA medical team. Eligibility, as well as which services are needed, is determined by the VA. We will then work together with you to develop a personalized care plan.
How Do Veterans Benefits Work?
Depending on the type of care needed, there are several different VA programs that can help provide the care needed for veterans' comfort, health, and peace of mind. Here’s how each program works:
Aid and Attendance program

VA Homemaker and Home Health Aide
The Homemaker and Home Health Aide (H/HHA) program offers skilled care and homemaking services. This program is excellent to help aging veterans avoid an undesirable move to a nursing home.

- Promoting Safety for Patients
- Light Housekeeping to Maintain a Safe and Clean Environment
These activities of daily living (ADLs) can be attended to by home health aide services:
- Support with Eating
- Assistance with Toileting
- Monitoring Health Regularly
- Help with Bathing
- Exercises, Both Active and Passive
- Aid with Dressing
- Transfers and Ambulation Assistance
- Escorting to Appointments
- Safe Use of Medical Equipment
