Home Care for Veterans in Spokane County
Are you or a loved one a U.S. military Veteran in need of personalized care at home? You may be eligible for comprehensive in-home support fully covered by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) via the Spokane Veteran's Administration. While navigating these benefits can seem daunting, we’re here to make it easier for you.
At Visiting Angels, we understand the unique needs of Veterans. One of our local owners is a U.S. Army Veteran, and his experiences guide the compassionate, customized care we offer. We know that each Veteran has specific needs, and we’re committed to creating care plans that address those individual requirements.
VA Benefits for In-Home Care
If you or a family member has served in the military, there's a good chance you qualify for VA benefits that can help cover the costs of in-home care. Programs like Home Health Aide (HHA) and Respite Care are specifically tailored for Veterans, helping them with daily living activities.
What’s great is that eligibility for these services isn't limited by age or disability status. This means that whether you're a younger Veteran fresh out of service or an older Veteran managing the effects of time, you can access supportive services based on clinical and unique needs.
HHA benefits are geared towards assisting Veterans live independently in his or her own home, by assisting with everyday needs (ADL’s). Respite visits are provided to relieve the primary caregiver, who is often a spouse or other family member. Give us a call or get ahold of the Regional Veteran Administration, Spokane VA (Mann-Grandstaff), to find out more about your personal benefits.
If approved, you may receive help with:
- Personal needs, i.e., getting dressed, bathing, incontinence care, medication reminders, mobility and ambulation, memory diseases; and
- Meal preparation, housekeeping, and laundry.
