Support for Veterans: Navigating Your Benefits with Visiting Angels and Spokane Mann-Grandstaff

At Visiting Angels, we’re dedicated to helping Veterans and their families access the benefits they have earned. If you or a loved one served in the U.S. Military, you may qualify for Veteran benefits that cover Home Health Aide (HHA) and/or Respite Care services. These programs are designed to help offset the cost of in-home support for daily living activities, regardless of age or disability.

What We Offer:

• Home Health Aide (HHA) Benefits: Assist with personal needs such as dressing, bathing, medication reminders, dementia care, and mobility support to help Veterans live independently at home.
• Respite Care: Provide relief for primary caregivers, often a spouse or family member, with services that include meal preparation, light housekeeping, and laundry.

How to Get Started

• Fill out Form 10-10-EZ (follow instructions on the Veteran 10-10ez form link);
  
• Mail/submit the form (DON'T FORGET YOUR DD-214). If you need to request a duplicate, get in touch with the VA. Call the Spokane Mann-Grandstaff at 509-434-7009 for specific instructions on filling out and mailing (an additional resource that may be of help is our local Spokane American Legion located at 4815 N. Assembly, Bldg 6A, Spokane, WA. Their number is 509-434-7750);
• Schedule an assessment with a Veterans Administration doctor, and he or she will determine physical needs. To locate a VA provider, you can call 509-434-7026 for assistance;
• Request Home Health Aide (HHA) and/or Respite visits and request Visiting Angels Liberty Lake be your provider; and
• HHA and respite visits are then assigned (based on need). Once an Authorization (Referral Notice) is faxed to our office by the Spokane VA Medical Center, care can begin often within a week. They do their very best to get your care scheduled ASAP.

Visiting Angels Liberty Lake will directly bill the VA for approved care, and no bills or invoices will be sent to you. Visiting Angels of Liberty Lake is an Authorized Community Network Provider, which allows us to work with the Veterans Administration directly to provide eligible Veterans with private in-home care services.
