Dr. Jeffrey Buchanan is a Professor of Psychology and Director of Clinical Training at Minnesota State University, Mankato. His expertise is the application of psychological interventions to the problems of aging, particularly Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. His current research is in the areas of managing challenging behaviors in persons with dementia, the analysis of verbal communication styles used by caregivers when interacting with persons with dementia, understanding how normal development in older adulthood may be pathologized by younger adults, and evaluating cognitive training interventions for individuals with dementia.
