How to Get Professional Home Care Assistance for Your Vet

Did you know that veterans can take advantage of at home care even if the care needed is not directly related to their service. This means that veterans who are living with the effects of aging can still take advantage of home care services covered by the VA.

In fact, the veteran is not even billed directly for these services. The billing is handled directly through the VA making it easy on your family to establish and continue care.

To enroll with VA for respite services or a home health aide (HHA), follow these steps:

• Complete form 1010-EZ
• Apply online and call the VA
• Complete the VA MD assessment
• Request that Visiting Angels Medford is your provider for a home health aide or respite care visits 

The VA makes HHA & respite care assignments based on need. The VA allots for between 6 and 24 hours of care per week from a HHA and up to 30 respite visits per year lasting up to 4 hours each.

When you have been approved, an authorization letter will be sent to our agency and we will be able to begin providing home care assistance at no cost to you. All costs will be billed directly to the VA.
