Irv Seldin, Owner, and CEO of Visiting Angels Palm Beach Gardens, has been a leader and innovator in the senior care field for nearly thirty years. He has dedicated his career to creating compassionate, non-institutional options for the care of seniors and the elderly with dementia.

Irv was inspired to start a home health agency because of his experience as an adult son with elderly parents. His Mom and Dad started to need living assistance in their mid-eighties, and they had a strong desire to remain in their own home, as do 88 percent of today’s seniors. Through this experience, Irv saw the importance of bringing integrity and respect to in-home care to serve the needs of families like his. Irv and his team have helped hundreds of families dealing with similar circumstances and needing in-home care, a caregiver, or companionship services.

Irv has years of experience and depth of expertise in providing care for the elderly. He developed and owned three premier senior assisted living communities and pioneered one of the nation's first dedicated memory care centers. Irv later served as Vice President of Operations for a company that operated nine independent living, assisted living, and memory care communities.

Irv is one of the original founders of the Assisted Living Federation of America and served on its national Board of Directors for nearly a decade. He founded and served as the first President of the Pennsylvania Assisted Living Association and was appointed by the Secretary of Aging to the intergovernmental council. Irv also served on the Board of Directors and as a Trustee of the Jewish Family and Children’s Service and was a member of its Elder Services Committee for many years. He continues that work today as a supporter and sponsor of the Alpert JFCS in West Palm Beach, the Palm Beach County Medical Society, and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Palm Beach County Partnership for Aging.

Irv is a Florida-licensed attorney. He received his law degree from the University of Michigan, and the United States Supreme Court has cited his legal writings. He also holds an M.A. degree and was a Doctoral Candidate in Philosophy at the University of Michigan.

Irv lives in Palm Beach Gardens and ardently supports the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce and its Health Care Committee. Together with his wife, Colleen Haggerty, Co-Owner of Visiting Angels Palm Beach Gardens, he accepted the Chamber’s Leadership Award for 2017 Small Business of the Year. Visiting Angels Palm Beach Gardens is one of the top ten caregiving agencies in Palm Beach County and has won the Home Care Pulse “Best of Homecare - Provider of Choice” Award nine years in a row thru 2022. Irv continues lecturing at regional conferences and seminars on senior care and in-home care for the elderly with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.

Visiting Angels Senior Resource Center

In October 2023, Visiting Angels Palm Beach Gardens officially opened doors to Visiting Angels University at Palm Beach Gardens. This Resource Center space, the first of its kind in southeastern Florida, will be used as a place of training, education, and community benefit for seniors, their families, and senior caregivers in Palm Beach County.
