Q: What type of services do you provide?

A: Personal care and companion care designed to enable clients to remain at home or loved one’s home safely and with dignity. Services include assistance with bathing, dressing, continence care, toileting, grooming, meal preparation, fluid reminders, cognitively stimulating activities, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and transportation to appointments.

Q: Do you conduct background checks on your employees

A: After an interview, the management team meets to review the application to determine if the applicant meets Visiting Angels standards for hire. If a candidate meets standards for hire, then the Human Resources department conducts criminal background checks and contacts previous employers to inquire about a caregiver’s competence and important character traits such as honesty, dependability, and compassion in caring for elderly and convalescing adults. Visiting Angels is insured, bonded and provides Workers’ Compensation Insurance.

Q: How much does the service cost?

A: Our rates compare favorably with other homecare agencies in Inland Southern California. These rates include all payroll, payroll taxes, liability insurance, workers compensation insurance, and bonding. Visiting Angels assumes responsibility for employee scheduling and supervision.

Q: Do you provide services in assisted living communities?

A: Yes. Families sometimes discover that the assistance provided in an assisted living community needs to be supplemented in order for the loved one to continue to live successfully in the community.

Q: Can I change the schedule if I have appointments to keep?

A: Yes, please notify our office at least 24 hours before cancelling or changing your schedule so that we can accommodate your request.

Q:How do clients pay for the service?

A: As a non-medical homecare company, Visiting Angels accepts private pay, and long term care insurance. It is important that a client who has paid into a long term care policy contact their long term care company to determine if they have a homecare benefit. If homecare services are covered the client discusses this with the company, the length of the elimination period as well as the daily, weekly, and monthly benefit limits. At this time, Medicare does not cover non-medical homecare services.

Q: How quickly can homecare services be provided/started?

A: Once you determine a schedule of care, we recommend that you meet with our proposed caregiver(s) and a Visiting Angels manager prior to the initiation of services. This can generally occur within 24 to 48 hours of determining your proposed care schedule.
