They have helped me move mom from rehab to her home twice and done so at a moment's notice seamlessly. The people who help mom dress, prepare her breakfast and lunch and now help her through the night do so with warmth and gentle caring. They are an extension of me. I am so grateful for their attention to mom's needs and mine. They have been patient guides on this journey with my mom. "We live in West Springfield, my mom was bedbound for 2 years due to dementia. The Visiting Angles team came 2X a day and 7 hours on Saturday's. During this time even if someone called out of their shift VA made sure that someone else showed up. One day when the gal who called us to say she could not get anyone to show up for us she then put the VA phone on answering machine and came over herself. She helped get my mom cleaned up for the day and then went back to the office. "We were looking for in home care for our mother, that greater senior services could not provide. We talked with a case manager , who then gave us 3 options that she recommended. We chose Visiting angels . They immediately started working with Mom and our family to make sure she was safe to continue staying in her apartment, with help. We reviewed what she needed, because my Mom has dementia. We made a schedule , and they were excellent with providing care. They’re were few unexpected events , but visiting angel always provided an aide to come see my mom. They are observing covid regulations. My moms aide has developed a good relationship with her, despite the fact she was not originally for the help, and now she looks forward to each visit . "Someone once said…”getting old isn’t for sissies”, truer words were never spoken. I was able to witness first hand that difficult journey with my Aunt and Uncle. Married 72 years and joined at the hip…they were only able to stay in their own home, together, because of 24/7 care from Visiting Angels. What makes Visiting Angel different from other caregivers? Personal service- I could call Helen if anything was needed…and it was taken care of…her experience made dealing with whatever came up very easy. She is unflappable, knows her staff and knows the business. She kept an eye on everything…always knew what was going on. Reliability – The caregivers were carefully chosen…there was never any problem with no shows. I never had any worry about whether I could trust them. I found every one to be competent, honest and kind. I knew that my Aunt and Uncle were safe and well cared for. They have been so understanding in supporting me and assisting with my schedule changes, or any issues that pop up. Everyone has been very supportive. After caring for my grandmother who had Alzheimer’s for nearly 5 years essentially on my own until her passing, I wanted to help others that are going through a similar situation.
