Companion Care
Recent changes in you senior's mood or temperament? Unexpected behavioral changes can result from isolation, boredom or loneliness. Consider companion care to help. Our experiences caregivers may just what a senior needs to raise their state of mind and overall outlook.
What Is Companion Care?
Companion care is care provided to seniors who need more socialization and human interaction rather than physical assistance. This is becoming more and more popular as the elder population grows. Companion care allows seniors to maintain their independence and continue to live at home. We give families confidence knowing their loved one is safe at home.
Wouldn't it be nice to know your family is able to continue their favorite hobby, has a companion for outings and appointments, and also has meaningful conversation throughout the day when you are not there?
Let our compassionate Angel's serve as a companion to your love one.
How Does Companion Care Help Older Adults?
We tend to see a decline in health to those seniors who are isolated and have little social interaction. Companion care makes all the difference to seniors. In our experience, seniors who have companion care look forward to the day their caregiver is coming over. They build a relationship that grows as they do activities together and have conversation.
We understand life is busy with your own responsibilities including work and families. We want to fill the gap for you with your loved ones. We want to give you confidence that your senior's mental needs are being meet by an experienced caregiver.
Companion Caregiving vs. Personal Caregiving
The two most common in-home care services–companion care and personal care—have some similarities but differ. Both are non-medical services that provide much-needed companionship and emotional support. The main distinction is assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and other tasks that require direct physical help.
Companion caregivers can assist with errands or light housekeeping, but they usually do not help with ADLs or perform tasks that require physical assistance.
Personal caregivers have specific skills and abilities to provide direct physical assistance while also performing other duties.
Visiting Angels may recommend companion care if your senior can care physically for themself. If needing more physical assistance personal care care would be recommended.
