applyVisiting Angles was acknowledged for our stand against distracted driving. Our own, Dale Brock, was recently interviewed in an article by Home Health Line, about a policy he implemented over 4 years ago. This policy ensures all Visiting Angels caregivers in the field are aware the agency will not permit texting or talking on hand-held phones while caregivers are driving. The State of Texas has now followed suit and for good reason. Brock says, "It's for the protection of the employee, the clients we transport and the agency from risk management standpoint." Visiting Angels also checks driving records and provides training on the policy.
We strive hard to ensure the safety of our clients and caregivers and encourage everyone to put down the hand-held devices and curb distracted driving.
May 2018: Visiting Angels celebrated the Grand Opening of their Training and Conference Center. The Training Center is a joint venture by Visiting Angels of Fort Worth and Southlake and Visiting Angels of Hurst, Euless Bedford (HEB).
Attendees enjoyed refreshments and snacks while mingling and meeting the agency and training staff. Owners, Dale Brock of Fort Worth and Southlake along with Greg Moon of HEB shared their belief that the best trained caregivers will provide the necessary skills to meet the needs of the seniors in our community with the highest level of service. The Training and Conference Center will give Visiting Angels caregivers instruction on providing maximum safety, comfort and compatibility for our clients. The curriculum was created by a registered nurse and includes hands-on skill training using medical equipment and assistive devices as well as customer service training to build long-lasting relationships with the families we serve.
Thank you to all that attended our Grand Opening! For those of you who were unable to attend it’s not too late! Contact Lynda Keeton 817-888-6671 for your personal tour!
