I wanted to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude for the care your angels provided for my father and mother during our time of need, and in addition to the office staff who were always courteous and willing to help to make sure someone was always there.
The time and dedication your angels provided went far and beyond anything we had experienced in the past with other home healthcare providers. They became part of our family, always willing to do anything plus more than was asked of them. You could truly see when you observed their interaction with my parents that they truly did care about them, and they weren’t just a client or a job. My mother surely does miss her angels.
Be assured, we would highly recommend Visiting Angels to anyone needing home healthcare and remain,
Yours truly,

For the past 8 years, my mother has been receiving Home Health Care from Visiting Angels located in Newport News, Virginia. Mom needed companion care for approximately 12 hours/week, and we found Visiting Angels most helpful in providing the services my Mom needed. Each of the three caregivers we have worked with in the last 8 years was very competent, sensitive to Mom’s needs and concerns, able to drive her wherever she wanted to go, and was flexible in scheduling their time. Nursing management staff made regular visits to us to evaluate services being provided and open to any concerns we might have. When I would take Mom with us to visit her grandchildren up north, Visiting Angels, including our care-giver, was responsive and at times, offered to make up time lost by providing an additional day of service so Mom would have help when she returned home. They often made “check-up” calls to us during holiday periods and during times of inclement weather. They were very concerned that Mom had the coverage she needed especially when her care-giver was unable to make the drive to Williamsburg because of bad weather.
Over a number of years, we have worked with 2 other Home Health Agencies. I have been most impressed with the level of professional care and genuine concern exhibited by the staff of Visiting Angels. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to provide care for their loved one. They are willing to work with their clients to tailor make a program to suit individual needs. As an adult daughter caring for my Mom, it is nice having a group of professional caregivers to help in lending a hand.

My mother and I want to thank Visiting Angels. The aide you assigned to work her is just wonderful. Christina is so professional and competent, yet also kind and personable. It is a burden off me knowing that the same person is in the home with Mom on a regular basis and can not only transport her to medical appointments but also interact with the doctors and communicate important information about the visits.
In the past month Mom has been eating and taking her medications on a more regular schedule and she seems more relaxed and happy. We both appreciate the smooth transition to home care. This service will allow Mom to stay in her home and remain independent. Thank you again.

My mother passed away leaving behind her father, age 100. He was in an assisted living facility but his health was declining. I was a working mother of two, wife, looking out for my dad, and now caring for my grandfather. I found out how overwhelming it can become.
My grandfather’s dementia worsened. He was not able to care for himself. I was advised that in order for him to stay in his assisted living environment, he would need additional care.
I contacted Visiting Angels in Newport News, Va and met the Director, Patty Andresen. Patty shared with me how she herself had been faced with caring for her own parents and that’s why she had in in her heart to care for others.
Patty hired Margaret as the caregiver for my grandfather. Oh how he loved her and depended on her. Grandfather lived to be 101 and he was assisted by Visiting Angels.
I am forever grateful to Patty, Margaret and the staff at Visiting Angels.

Dear Ms. Andresen:
I would like to thank you and your staff, for the excellent care given to my mother, Kitty Walton, during her illness. I truly cannot find works to express how much you staff members did for us. Each of your “angels” brought their individual and special talents into our home when they were most needed. Each of them treated my mother with close attention and kindness that I will never forget.
Vanessa Davis was the first to arrive in our home. What a perfect choice for your first caregiver! My mom and I were both anxious as to how to cope with strangers in the house and she set us at ease from the minute she walked in the door, providing a steady and calming influence. De Williamson was so expert at talking with my mom and letting her know at each move what was going to happen and was also quite helpful to me when I became ill with a migraine. Monae Woodard’s kindness saw our family through what we knew would be our last Mother’s Day together. JaMiqua Fitzgerald held my mom’s the the entire evening the last Sunday. Suzan Aldo’s calm attention saw us through many nights peacefully that would have been quite the otherwise without her presence. Without her, I wouldn’t have gotten any sleep in those last weeks. Wanda Strickland’s expertise got us through a rough morning of getting my mom’s bedroom arranged for a hospital bed and making the transfer as easy as possible. Lori Deming was vigilant through the last morning as we sought to make sure my mom was not in any pain. Each of them saw us through moments of crisis.
As wonderful as all these ladies were for us, I must make a special not of two of them. Felicia Avenger worked tirelessly through the last night to bring down my mother’s fever. She never gave up and was there to comfort me as well through many nights. Brenda Kearney saw us through the last hours. Brenda seemed to know exactly when to be with us and when to leave; what to say and when to be silent. I can’t even imagine what we would have done without her there to see us through my mother’s passing.
I feel that God has blessed us with the help we received from each of these ladies. I thank you for providing their assistance to my family.
Yours truly,
- Susan W.
