Certified Palliative Care at Home
Palliative care brings a great deal of comfort and aims to improve the quality of life for individuals living with chronic illnesses. While it is often confused with hospice care, palliative care is offered at any stage of a chronic illness no matter the life expectancy, even during medical treatment for their condition.
Contact UsHere's how our palliative caregivers provide support:
- Physical
Relieve discomfort and work on reducing physician concerns - Emotional
Instill positivity and nurture a sense of purpose. - Social
Develop companionship and provide meaningful conversation to reduce feelings of loneliness and/or isolation. - Spiritual
Boost the overall sense of inner calm and purpose while helping families find peace of mind during a challenging time.
Even though Visiting Angels caregivers do not provide medical support, we watch over your loved one at home (or in assisted living facilities and long-term care residences).

Confusion Between Palliative Care and Hospice
We often have to explain the differences between hospice, or end-of-life care and palliative care because they are very similar. But, palliative care can start any time after the diagnosis of a chronic illness whereas hospice care is reserved for those facing the end of their lives and medical treatments no longer work.
Boston Visiting Angels provides both palliative care and customized end-of-life care programs, where the caregiver training varies somewhat to be able to know what to do when a client has passed.
