Home Care in Adell, WI

Seniors and families throughout Adell, Wisconsin, rely on Visiting Angels to provide at-home care services to help seniors age in place. We’re a locally owned and operated home care agency dedicated to our community, which is why we’re ranked one of the top agencies in the area.

At-home care services with Visiting Angels

Part of what makes Visiting Angels stand out from our competitors is our dedication to each individual client. We provide various customizable home care services to ensure we meet each client’s needs.

  • Companion care: One of the most popular services at Visiting Angels is companion care. It’s the perfect first service for most seniors, especially those new to at-home care. Seniors who receive companion care enjoy help with daily tasks like cooking, cleaning, laundry, and medication reminders.
  • Personal care: Our personal care services are similar to companion care but include hands-on assistance for seniors needing extra help. Personal care services include help with grooming, dressing, toileting, showering, and mobility.
  • Respite care: Care services with Visiting Angels are not just for helping seniors but also their families. Respite care is a temporary care service where our caregivers step in for family caregivers so they can relax and recharge.
  • Palliative care: Clients with a long-term or chronic condition may request palliative care. Our palliative care services focus on alleviating discomfort while supporting clients mentally and emotionally.
  • Ready-Set-Go Home care: Our Ready-Set-Go Home care program is for transitional care. It focuses on getting clients home after a hospital stay and reducing their chance of readmission during recovery.
  • Dementia and Alzheimer’s care: Clients with dementia, including Alzheimer’s, may need specialized care, such as wandering prevention, to keep them safe at home. Our dementia care also includes personal care services.
  • Social care: It’s not easy keeping up with technology, but our social care helps seniors utilize their smartphones and computers to stay in touch with loved ones. They’ll receive help with basic messaging and connection tools like texts, emails, and social media.
  • End-of-Life care: Caregivers may work alongside hospice teams to provide physical, mental, and emotional support as clients enter their final stages of life.

Living in Adell

The village of Adell, Wisconsin, is home to roughly 500 people and is conveniently located in the southwestern corner of Sheboygan County. It’s a wonderful place for seniors to live, with plenty of activities for seniors and their families to enjoy.

Garden Plots

Gardening is an excellent activity for seniors. It gets them to enjoy the outdoors and is a fun way to ensure you have fresh produce in your home for meals. It’s also a great way to meet new people.

Since not everyone living in Adell has room for their ideal garden, the village of Adell has garden plots that citizens can rent for a $25 annual fee. The plots are 25x25 and perfect for various plants, vegetables, and flowers. If you need assistance setting up your garden plot or need transportation to care for your plants, our caregivers are happy to help.

Grief Counseling

Unfortunately, aging comes with loss. And while the grief that comes with a loss is unmatched, it’s not something you have to navigate on your own. The Grace Bible Church in Adell hosts weekly group grief counseling sessions on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. The sessions allow you to connect with others struggling with a similar struggle while learning how to cope with your loss.

Grief comes in many forms, and sometimes, it can make caring for yourself difficult. If you’ve recently experienced a loss and are having trouble caring for yourself and your home, the caregivers with Visiting Angels can help. We can handle housekeeping, cooking, and personal grooming while you work through your grief. We can also provide transportation to the Grace Bible Church for counseling or personal therapy sessions.

Library

Libraries are a wonderful resource for seniors. Not only are there tons of books and other forms of media for you to borrow but there are also tons of community events and projects to participate in. Caregivers with Visiting Angels are happy to bring clients to the library, help them sign up for events, and navigate computers and the renting process.

The nearest library is the Lakeview Community Library, serving residents throughout Adell, Scott, Sherman, and Random Lake. The library hosts many monthly events, including book clubs and an “Appy Hour” where residents can learn how to use different library apps.

The village of Adell also has a Little Free Library in the Village Hall. You can find some great books for free or donate them to the library after reading them.

Dog Park

If you’re a dog owner looking for a safe place for you and your dog to socialize, visit the Village Dog Park. Our caregivers love joining clients and their beloved furry friends to enjoy the weather at the local dog park. The dog park is in the northeast corner of the village park, and it’s filled with trees for dogs' bladder relief. There are also benches for you to sit on while dogs play and supplies to clean up after your dog.
